Angela Gilmour
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia. I earned a Masters of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis in 1995. During that time, I also completed course work in Biblical Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary.
I began my practice in 1996 and have clinical experience working with individuals, couples and families. I have practiced in inpatient, day program, and outpatient settings. In these settings, I have treated a variety of individuals, from those with serious mental illnesses & substance dependence to individuals dealing with difficult life transitions.
I utilize evidenced-based therapy techniques, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I am always pursuing the latest research. Recently, I have been learning about Attachment Science, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Narrative Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory. My goal is to use my training, experience and skills to walk along side each person, in order to help them.
