Dave Wriston, LCSW
Dave is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has been working in Lynchburg for the last 25 years. For over 20 of those years, Dave worked as an In-Home Therapist and Supervisor at Horizon Behavioral Health specializing in working with teens and their families. Dave led a team of therapists in implementing Multisystemic Therapy (MST) which is an evidence-based program designed to help teens avoid the court system by enabling their parents to hold them accountable for their behavior. Dave has been doing private practice outpatient counseling for the last three years. His passion is grief counseling. Dave co-facilitated a Grief Share program at a local church for 10 years. This gave him the opportunity to walk with those experiencing the pain of loss as they looked for meaning and hope. Dave is a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist and welcomes the privilege of working with you on your grief journey. He works with clients of all ages that are struggling with grief and loss. Another type of loss that Dave addresses is the hurt of separation and divorce that both adults and children experience. Dave also works with couples in strengthening their relationships and marriages. In his free time, Dave likes attending community events with his wife Cindy, hanging out with their kids and grandkids, and competing in local 5K races.
