Fara Ravaoarimanga, MA, Resident in Counseling
I am Fara Ravaoarimanga, a Licensed Resident at Light Counseling and a doctoral candidate in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. I also hold an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from North Park University, Chicago. I specialize in therapy for survivors of domestic violence and have facilitated psychoeducational groups in Madagascar and U.S. shelters in Chicago and McLean. I also work with clients facing trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, OCD, abuse, addiction, adjustment difficulties, self-esteem challenges, religious concerns, and relationship issues. My focus is on empowering individuals, fostering self-discovery, and building self-worth. I believe people benefit greatly from learning skills and tools to navigate life’s challenges, so I incorporate psychoeducation into my work with individuals and couples. My approach is integrative, rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. I integrate Christianity into clinical practice for those who desire it. At the same time, I value and respect individuals from diverse backgrounds, embracing both collectivistic and individualistic perspectives. I offer therapy in English, Malagasy, and French. My treatment is tailored to meet each client’s unique needs, and I am available both virtually and in person at Glen Allen. I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and wholeness.
