Amy Hunter, Master’s Level Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
Amy is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern who earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently finishing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. She enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan and is passionate about helping clients navigate difficult and traumatic experiences through practical, Christ-centered and evidence-based techniques that foster healing, resilience, and flourishing.
Amy’s primary therapeutic orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), informed by Polyvagal theory and biblically grounded in compassionate, client-centered care tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals. She integrates cognitive and nervous-system-informed interventions to help clients build insight, emotional regulation, and healthier patterns of coping and connection. Her clinical interests include mood disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, geriatric mental health, severe mental illness, trauma, and supporting veterans and their families.
Outside of counseling, Amy treasures her roles as a wife of 31 years and mom to a teenage son and daughter. She enjoys hiking, family road trips, running, and tackling home organization projects.
