Laura Holmes, MA, LPC, CCTP-II

Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Level 2 (CCTP-II) and trained in EMDR. She also has certifications in Life Coaching, Biblical Counseling and Stress & Trauma Care. She has experience as a Parent Coach teaching Attachment Theory to parents to aid in healthy child development. She also has a specialization in Trauma (which includes Crisis, Grief, PTSD, Sexual Trauma and Domestic Violence). Laura is also certified to administer the PREPARE (pre – Marriage Counseling) and ENRICH (Marriage Counseling) inventories, which include assessment and skill building. Laura also has experience in clinical supervision and provides licensed supervision for interns and residents seeking licensure. Laura understands that people need to respond to unexpected changes and challenges in life and seek counseling as a safe, empathetic place for healing and restoration. She realizes that every client is unique and different tools and methods are imperative for everyone. She greatly enjoys facilitating self-exploration and personal growth in her clients. She believes that a strong therapeutic alliance is an integral part of the path towards hope and restoration. She has experience working with complex PTSD, DID, BPD, marital issues, pre-marital couples, depression, anxiety, co-dependency, grief, life transitions, stress management, unresolved childhood traumas and spiritual conflict. She also has experience as a Grief Share facilitator. While she lives based on the principles of Christian faith, she is equipped to work with clients from various spiritual backgrounds and incorporate spirituality as requested by the client. Laura has been married to the love of her life for 37 years. They are empty nesters who in their free time greatly enjoy the beach, bike riding, hiking and exploring the great outdoors.
